Mission Statment

At Anticam, we believe that everyone has the right to privacy. That's why we're dedicated to developing innovative solutions that help prevent cameras from seeing you and protect your personal privacy. Our mission is to empower individuals to control their privacy and live their lives without the fear of being constantly monitored or recorded. We strive to create a safer, more secure world where personal boundaries are respected, and everyone can feel free to express themselves without the concern of unwanted surveillance.

Why is Anticam Important?

In the 21st century, with the rise in modern technology, privacy, or lack of privacy, has become a significant concern. From security cameras in businesses and public places to traffic cameras and even doorbell cameras. In fact, it is estimated that there are now more than 10 billion cameras in the world. The number of cameras has been increasing rapidly in recent years. This dramatic increase in cameras is due to several factors, including the falling cost of cameras, the increasing availability of high-speed internet, and the growing popularity of video surveillance. The increasing number of cameras means that the likelihood of being seen by a camera is also increasing. According to a study conducted in 2021 in New York City, just by walking down the street on an average day, you are likely to be recorded by around 34 cameras in one day alone, with only around 10 to 18% of those cameras being controlled by the government. Even in your home and neighborhood in rural areas, you are likely to be seen by around 14 cameras weekly. That is not to mention the growing problem of hidden cameras. 60% of Americans say they are concerned about hidden cameras in an Airbnb and are right to be worried. 11% of vacation home renters have found hidden cameras. Between 2013 and 2018, over 30,000 cases of hidden cameras were reported, according to the New York-based non-profit organization Human Rights Watch. Privacy laws have been established to address the problem of hidden cameras, including the rule of one-party consent. However, these have done nothing to affect the issue, and no actions have been taken to prevent or stop the use of these cameras.

There are devices on the market to locate hidden cameras, but they are only sometimes effective and can be used in large areas. That is why AntiCam is essential. AntiCam uses a grid of infrared lights to emit light at a wavelength humans can not see, but cameras can. This wavelength allows the user to block out any cameras from seeing the user, while from a person's perspective, there is nothing wrong. AntiCam is an excellent device that prevents unwanted cameras. However, a final solution still needs to be found. As technology advances, the lack of privacy will only worsen if no action is taken to stop the usage of hidden cameras.
